Assessment Centre Case Study

A client of ours, wanted to recruit high numbers of staff in as shorter time frame as possible by a process that could be flexible and deployable within any aspect of their organisation. NMS Solutions Ltd introduced the concept of assessment centres that have been of great use in reducing costs and timeframes.

This is a process whereby a group of candidates attend your offices; or another venue if preferred; for a full day of assessments, we too attend the day to ensure that it runs as smoothly as possible. The process in total takes five weeks and varies in cost depending on quantity and seniority of staff.

After much consultation the job specifications were agreed upon, a team of consultants and researchers was established to furnish the clients need and the search began. Candidates were approached and interviewed by NMS Solutions staff and then a short-list of high calibre individuals was put together, reducing the original number of applicants to 2 people per position available, and forwarded to the client. A venue was organised and an NMS Solutions member of staff assigned to the day, in order to deal with any problems arising form either the client or candidates attending the day.

For example, one assessment day resource need was 11 specialist developers and team leaders. 20 people attended the day. 11 of these candidates were selected and accepted offers from the client and continue to work with the client to this day.
